Worst Accidents In The Formula One History

Sportsbox360 is the home of exclusive sports news, providing the sports fans with up-to-date sports news from around the globe.

The game of formula one is synonymous with fun, speed, adrenaline rush and excitement. Formula one remains the most popular and enduring forms of motorsport worldwide. However the sport takes a tragic turn when life is taken during a racing event, something which happens far too often. Let’s have a look at some accidents in the history of F1 racing that shook the fans across the world.

Niki Lauda
It was 1976 and the German grand prix at the Nurburgring. Lauda lost control of his Ferrari in the second lap of the race, his car spun into the barriers on the right side and then back across the track, where he collided with another car and burst into flames.

Gilles Villeneuve
This accident is termed as one of the worst accidents in the history of F1 racing. On his final qualifying lap for the Belgian Grand Prix at Zolder, his Ferrari came into contact with Jochen Mass’s car and was launched into the air. The crash was so strong that his car was severely smashed and Villeneuve was thrown across the track still strapped to his seat. Unfortunately, this accident claimed Villeneuve’s life.

Roland Ratzenberger
Ratzenberger was killed during a qualifying run at Imola. He had damaged his car on the previous lap and was attempting to secure the last grid spot, when the wind pressure caused by his high speed tore the wing completely off the car. The wing slid underneath the car, which failed to make the corner and slammed into the wall at 195 miles per hour.

Scott Kalitta
During an event at Oldbridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey, Scott was in a qualifying race when, near the end of the run, the engine exploded into flames. The parachutes failed to open and the car careened through a sand trap before hitting a concrete wall at nearly 300 miles per hour. He died in this fatal accident.

Moto GP
Accidents and injuries are an integral part of sports. However, the fun and excitement turn into sorrow when the accidents turn fatal. These were some unfortunate incidents that shook the Moto racing fans all over the world. Golf Etiquettes-Do’s And Don’ts

SportsBox360.com a website owned and managed by the California-based VP SportsCast LLC brings you the exclusive news of the PGA Tour. All the latest happenings from the stylish world of golf are brought to you exclusively by SportsBox360.com-your daily dose of sports and entertainment.

Golf has long been known as a gentleman's sport. Golf has a strange fascination of its own. It is technical. It is humbling. It is challenging. It is stylish. So, to be a successful Golfer one needs to have good knowledge of golf etiquette's and rules as there are no referees and golf requires players to be self-governing. So, if you aspire to be a professional golfer and play in prestigious golf tournaments someday, then here are some basic etiquette's you should be familiar with.

•  Play at a reasonable pace.
•  Have the player who is farthest away from the pin hit first on each shot.
•  Let the winner of the previous hole tee off first at the next tee.
•  Don't step on your fellow players putting lines -- the imaginary line that connects the ball to the hole.
•  Don't make any noise when your fellow player is preparing to putt.
•  Don't swing your club until the area around you has been cleared of people. You do not want to risk hitting a fellow golfer.
•  If you find that your ball is heading in the direction of another player or group of players, be sure to yell "Fore!" to signal that they should be watchful of your incoming golf ball.
•  Don’t lose cool. Displays of frustration are one thing, but outbursts of temper are quite another. Yelling, screaming, throwing clubs or otherwise making a fool of yourself are unacceptable and, in some cases, dangerous to yourself and others.
•  Last but not the least; respect the rules and regulations of the course you are playing.

These were some basic golf etiquette's brought to you exclusively by Sportsbox360.com.  Sportsbox360 brings you all the latest happenings from the stylish world of golf. What It Takes To Be An F1 Driver

Sportsbox360 is the home of exclusive sports news, providing the sports fans with up-to-date sports news from around the globe.Sportsbox360 also monitors and indexes all the F1 race events. We do this 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to ensure that if something is happening in the fast paced world of F1 Racing, you will find it right here.

If you thought that driving an F1 racing car is all about controlling the steering wheel and shifting gears, then you need to reconsider, since it takes lot more than basic driving skills to be an F1 driver.Today's F1 driver is expected to have a skill set akin to that of an astronaut. F1 racing is the sport of applied technology and split-second intuitive decisions; one mistake and you could lose not just the game but your precious life too. So, let’s have a look at the qualities that are required to be a Formula one driver.

•  A racing driver has to push the car to the very limits, attacking corners to the point that the car is always sliding on the edge of adhesion.
•  A Formula one racing driver needs outstanding reactions and the ability to make quick decisions; one mistake and that could be the end of the game.
•  A mathematical brain to calculate sensations and grip levels to maximize a car’s potential on any circuit.
•  They have to push the car into a state of instability - and feel comfortable with that.
•  To be at the top of F1standings; an F1 driver has to learn to get used to the feel of the car and understand each part of the circuit. It is a highly disciplined approach and one needs to be really focused.
•  Good communication skills, to build a team around them and work with their engineer.

Apart from all the above mentioned qualities, to be an F1 driver you need to have an engineer’s mind and understand what and why the vehicle acts a certain way. We conclude by saying that a modern F1 driver has to work very hard to be at the top of F1 standings and to rule the fast paced world of F1racing.

Backswing Like A Pro

The golf backswing can be a mysterious, but important part of the game even to beginners. There are different styles of backswing on the PGA Tour, but there is one thing that is common between all, the best players get their upper bodies fully turned, with hands as far from the head as possible and clubface sitting on the same angle as their left arm. Without the body loaded correctly during the early stages of the golf backswing, any golfer will tend to over swing as their brains don't have a sense of muscular tension that would signal the beginning of the downswing.

Golf Tournaments
During Golf Tournaments, even experienced golfers are in some cases humbled by a bad swing. There is nothing more troubling than a golf ball gone wild to remind a player that they have become out of practice. There are a couple of simple things you can do to achieve that perfect backswing:

  • Position your body so that your feet are shoulder length apart. When you position your body like this, you will be able to easily shift your weight as you swing your golf club.
  • You simply hold a club up at waist high, remove your left hand, and then hinge the right arm at the elbow to cock the club up and over the tip of your right shoulder.
  • Turn your shoulders and upper body away from the target until the right forearm is to the right of your body.
  • The right elbow again pointing at your right hip. Finally, reach across and replace your left hand on the grip.
    • Do not race back or jerk the club away too quick. Instead you want to stay in balance and turn around your spines axis.
    • Through repetition your body begins to recognize and respond automatically to the sensations involved in putting together a naturally correct and symmetrical backswing.

The Latest From The NBA – Kobe Bryant passing Wilt Chamberlain (Los Angeles Lakers Vs. Sacramento Kings)

The National Basketball Association (NBA) is the best in men's professional basketball league and one of the Big Four major sports leagues in North America. It has thirty franchised member clubs (29 in the United States and 1 in Canada). The NBA is widely considered to be the chief men's professional basketball league in the world. It is an active member of USA Basketball (USAB), which is recognized by FIBA (aka the International Basketball Federation), as the national governing body for basketball in the United States. It has the distinction of having players that are some of the world's best paid sportsmen (by average annual salary per player).
The NBA playoffs aim at determining the champion team begins in late April. These follow a tournament format. Each team plays an opponent in a best-of-seven series, with the first team to win four games advancing into the next round, while the other team is eliminated from the playoffs. The final playoff round is known as the NBA Finals, and is held annually in June. The victor in the NBA Finals wins the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy. Each player and major contributor—including coaches and the general manager—on the winning team receive a championship ring. In addition, the league awards the Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award to the best performing player of the series.
One of the stars of the NBA, Kobe Bryant joined the Lakers in 1996 and has won 3 NBA Championships in a row from 2000-2002. He also won the Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award in his 13th season, in 2009 and is a sure shot to join the Hall of Fame of the NBA.
Recently, Kobe Bryant made a piece of history by overtaking Wilt Chamberlain (who had amassed an impressive 31,419 points in his sensational career) to move to the 4th position on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. Kobe achieved this feat in a game where he scored 19 points against the Sacramento Kings on March 30th, 2013. The Lakers defeated the Kings 103-98 in this historical match. What made the win even more sensational was the fact that the Lakers were not poised to win even till half-time. They were trailing by 12 points after the first quarter and reduced the point difference to 4 at half time. Dwight Howard contributed to the win with 24 points while Pau Gasol put in a solid performance scoring 12 points. On the Kings team, the top scorers were Evans (21 points) and Cousins (19 points). Although it was only a regular season encounter between these two California teams, this match will have its place in the history of sports news given the significance of Bryant passing Chamberlain’s milestone.

Grand Prix – The Racing Events That Make Audiences Go Wild

Formula 1 is a racing phenomenon that is broadcast in each and every country in the world. Only the Football World Cup surpasses it in popularity and viewership. All the teams have great fans, at least in their own countries, not to mention those who cheer for the team they feel is the best, regardless of which country they belong to. For example, Ferrari is popular not only in Italy. There are many other nationals who cheer for Ferrari, even if their own countrymen are driving another car in the competition. The same goes for BMW from Germany and McLaren from UK. Ferrari, BMW and McLaren are the most popular teams in all the Grand Prix events.
The reason for the popularity of F1 racing could be due to the futuristically designed, customized and highly priced cars that are used in the races. Another probable reason is the high and strict standards that all these cars and drivers have to comply with so as to be able to qualify for these championships. The Grand Prix is a series of races that are run on tailor made courses or sometimes even on public roads – both of which are strategically designed to have deep right and left turns. Some of these world famous circuits around the world are the streets in big cities.
The MotoGP is another world class racing event for four-stroke bikes. These Grand Prix motorcycles are custom-built racing machines that are neither available for purchase by the general public nor can be ridden legally on public roads. It was started in the year 1949 and has risen to a popular sport. The Riders' World Championship is awarded to the most successful rider over a season, as determined by a points system based on Grand Prix results.
When these racing events are being held in any part of the world, they easily eclipse all other kind of sports news. The thrill of watching an F1 or MotoGP race in person is unparalleled. Even if you are following the series on the television or on a website, these races are sure to give you a nail-biting finish.Regardless of what attracts you to the sport, could be the high speeds, or the 4 and 5 Gs pulled by courageous and calculative F1 drivers, races are the most thrilling of sports to get addicted to.
For a unique platform where you can find the latest news and videos on Grand Prix events held around the world, check out SportsBox360.
